Researchers at Leibniz IPHT working on the QRC-4-ESP project reported a new approach for measuring the coherent dynamics of a superconducting qubit embedded in an open waveguide. By studying how the qubit interacts directly with propagating microwave photons, the team demonstrates a powerful method for probing quantum coherence in an open quantum system. 🔬🌊


The work provides valuable insights into light–matter interactions at the quantum level and advances our ability to characterise and control superconducting qubits without relying on conventional cavity architectures.
