QRC-4-ESP researchers give invited talks at FQMT’26

Two researchers working on the QRC-4-ESP project, Dr Alexandre Zagoskin (Loughborough University) and Professor Tapio Ala-Nissilä (Aalto University), gave invited talks at Frontiers of Quantum and Mesoscopic Thermodynamics (FQMT’26), held in Prague from 26 July to 1 August 2026.

⚛️ Alexandre Zagoskin presented “Dissipative and nondissipative quantum circuit elements”, exploring the behaviour of circuit elements in the quantum regime and the interplay between dissipation, memory and quantum dynamics – phenomena relevant to quantum technologies and quantum information processing.

✨ Tapio Ala-Nissilä presented “The Magic in Quantum Machine Learning”, examining the quantum resources that may underpin the performance of quantum machine-learning systems, including the role of quantum magic and its relationship with quantum reservoir computing (QRC).

🔬 The two invited talks approached quantum information processing from complementary perspectives and are closely connected to QRC-4-ESP, which is investigating how the intrinsic dynamics of quantum systems can be harnessed for efficient reservoir computing and signal processing.
