Prof. Igor Abrikosov of Linköping University recently visited the University of Montpellier, France, for a day of scientific discussions and exchange with researchers at the Laboratoire Charles Coulomb. The visit took place on 31 August 2026 and provided an opportunity to explore areas of mutual research interest relevant to the QRC-4-ESP project.

During the visit, Prof. Abrikosov met Nicolas Izard, who presented his experimental platform for research with carbon nanotubes. Discussions focused in particular on an emerging research direction investigating luminescent point defects in carbon nanotubes, providing an opportunity to exchange ideas on the potential of these systems and possible links with Prof. Abrikosov’s theoretical research.

Prof. Abrikosov also met Anaïs Dréau, who presented her research on luminescent point defects in silicon, further broadening the discussions on defect-based quantum materials and their potential applications.

🤝 The visit provided a valuable opportunity for researchers from the QRC-4-ESP consortium to exchange expertise, discuss complementary theoretical and experimental approaches, and identify promising directions for future scientific collaboration.
