Following his recent attendance at the META 2024 conference in Japan, Alex Zagoskin (Loughborough University) seized the opportunity to visit the Wako-Shi Campus of RIKEN – Japan’s largest comprehensive research institute – and Shibaura Institute of Technology.

At RIKEN, Alex had the honour of giving the talk "Towards the Qualitative Theory of Large Quantum Coherent Structures" during Prof. Franco Nori’s weekly seminar. He was also kindly shown the nearby street named after the new chemical element Nihonium, co-discovered by RIKEN researchers.

At Shibaura Institute of Technology, Alex engaged in discussions with Prof. Shohei Watabe (Shibaura) and Prof. Shiro Kawabata (Hosei University) about the exciting prospects of their ongoing research collaboration.
